I am considering a purchase of a black Warrior and came upon this thread. You mentioned that it is well balanced. I do not have a chance to try it myself. I only tried Ibanez Xiphos and discovered that it has a neck dive issue. It can be solved, but I would like to avoid fiddling. So... before I go and order Warrior online without trying (and giving more money since Xiphos is on discount here)... I would like some sort of assurance that Warrior balances better than Xiphos. Have you tried Xiphos so that you can compare this neck dive issue?
I have tried the Xiphos, back when they came out, so I don't really remember how it balanced, but I know that I like the feeling of my WRXMG more than the Xiphos.
My WRXMG is from when they first started producing them, so it's an Indian made guitar. Nowadays they're made in China (or have they moved the production yet again?). Perhaps it's had a stint in Indonesia as well, I'm not sure. Anyway, that being said, I can only speak for the one I own. But mine still blows me away in terms quality and feel. A lot of guitar for the money. However, the Indian X-series have been very inconsistent in quality, and it seems like opinions differ.
I have read that people are happy with the current WRXMG's though, so if I had to guess, I'd say that it's probably a quite safe bet... maybe someone who owns a newer one can chime in?
I don't really have any photos to demonstrate its balance, but I made this screenshot from a recording where I'm playing it. Not the best quality, but you get the idea.
I use a quite wide leatherstrap, and I love the balance, never let me down yet!
Anders, those are awesome! As you can see I have three X series Jacksons and love them all. Your thread is making me GAS for a Warrior, it's the one body shape I've never tried...
The thread is 3 years old, so he was correct at the time.
The Kelly was a later addition to the X-series, don't know why though.
Thanks for the comments on the Warriors! Nice couch you've got there!
I have a black XRXTMG made in India in '11. It's well balanced, no issues with neck-dive. It's a very light, extremely comfortable guitar. The only Warriors made in China are the JS series at present. As far as I know, there are no black WRXMGs in recent production. The most recent WRXMG is the Army Drab color, green satin, made in Indonesia.
Thank you for your insights here. It seems that Warrior has a better balance straight out of the box, while one has to fiddle (move strap pins or add weight) to balance the Xiphos. I'll see where will this lead me to. I've been fiddling with my guitars quite deeply so that might not be an issue here. I've been playing Ibanez for years and now looking to try something new... since I cannot find that "law of attraction" in current Ibanez guitars. Until I tried Xiphos. For me it really stands out from everything else I've seen at Ibanez. And I still feel reluctant to order Warrior without trying it first - none of the local shops have it. Something will come out of all this eventually
As for black WRXMG - it is produced. Black, green and silver are available as can be seen on Jackson pages. Though silver is not available in any shop. I guess it's sold out.
Country of origin - from what I've seen current WRXMG are produced in India.

You are correct, I thought I had seen a sticker that said Made In China, but it said Made In Indonesia:
branchi: I don't think Jackson produce guitars in India anymore? Isn't it Indonesia and China? Does anyone keep track of all changes?
I posted a link to bax-shop.nl so it needs to be approved
Go there and search for warrior wrxmg. Specifications says: India.
Maybe it's an error... who knows.
Don't trust everything you see on the Jackson site.
Currently, Jackson makes no guitars in India. If you find someone who has a black or silver and/or Indian X-Warrior in stock, it's new old stock. X-Warriors are only made in Indonesia at present, and only in green.
