Those are some cool upgrades. How do those EMG-X sound?

It also looks like the black ones are back in production, in Indonesia by Cort.

EMG-X's are fantastic IMO. My other Warrior has the 81X + 60X, while I have 81X + 85X in the WRXMG. I hardly ever use the neck pickups, so I can't say as much about them, but the 81X is a big improvement over the regular 81 (for ME at least).

I feel that I get better string separation and that it cuts through better. I would highly recommend people to at least try it, not much of a hassle if you already have EMG's with "quick connect" in your guitar...

I replaced my RRXMG´s FR Special with a mixed floyd: Baseplate is FRT-1000, saddles, 32mm sustainblock, springs trem arm and are Schaller. String lock bolts and spring tension plate are still from FR Special. It is nice those parts are all compatible. I have done some other small cosmetic modifications too as you can see (refin by a luthier):


This Made in India X-series Jackson is my main player. Now X-series Jacksons are made in Indonesia, is their quality better than those older ones? Why did Jackson terminate the HMI deal?

I own an Indian X Warrior. It's a good guitar, not perfect of course. The paint job is terrible and there were some minor flaws here and there. Surprisingly, the inlays are starting to come unglued. The fretjob was rather sloppy. I've messed around with an Indonesian X Rhoads in a store. It seemed to me to be more solid, put together more carefully, and with a much better paintjob and fretjob.

Who knows why Jackson is constantly changes suppliers. Wildwood replaced Harmony and were doing all X Series and Pro Series until recently. Not sure who in China is making the JS. Now they're changing again and Cort is manufacturing all their X-Series in Indonesia. While Samick gets to make the Pros. Was Jackson unhappy with Wildwood and Harmony before that or did they get a better deal/better quality with the other companies? We'll never know.

Due to the availability of wood, Indonesia is a more natural choice for guitar manufacturing than India and those three companies manufacture a good chunk of Asian guitars for the US market. But I get the impression there's also some geopolitics involved. For a while American companies were preferring India for all sorts of products (shoes were another big one). Now that seems to be over.
