This looks awesome. Great job so far, and I can't wait to see more of this. Where did you find that vaneer and how thick is it?

This has my wheels turning on the prospect of sourcing a bookmatched quilted maple vaneer and trying a PC-1ish Au Natural mutt using a USA Promod neck.

          hmmmmm.....

Thanks for all the comments guys! Sorry I've not updated it much lately. Like I said earlier in this thread, it may take a while since I am doing it as I have time. It's kinda in the same state as the pics, except I've done some more grain filling with sanding sealer.

I'll have some more updates and pics this weekend!

I got the burl as part of a trade from a local guy here. I actually now have a friend that has a veneer cutter and can make veneer. I think it's about 1/30" to 1/40" thickness. Maybe a bit thicker than construction paper.

Your last pictures were kinda crappy, so I tried to color correct them. Not sure if I got it right, but they probably look a lot closer...

Can't wait to see better pictures... I love burl wood. This is gonna look great.

Crappy Xen? You made it look almost like a black and white pic (really washed out). The original pics I took are really what it looks like. I used yellow stain man. I wanted an amber-ish look to the wood...

Actually haven't even had a chance to touch it. I'm off for the next week so I'll try to dedicate some time to it. I'm dying to finish it, just haven't had the time...

Just resurrecting this thread....I (and am sure others) would like to see the final product when you get there. No pressure though.

Your pictures have improper white balance. I assume that's an oak table... and I assume that your binding isn't urine yellow. It could be. I doubt it.
