No, what I meant is that it literally only says "Made in USA" even on the back. There is no model number. It does say "5-year warranty" or something like that. But yes, I am thinking it is the 500XL since there is a Dime-related pickup in the neck position. Oh, and it says something like "Not associated with the designer Bill Lawrence since 1984" IIRC.

That'd be Ed Wacjman...cool guy that I've met...uses the exact same tooling that B&B originally used. IMO the pups are similar enough to each other.

Yep but MANY still argue about the differences, the real deal is this when you order from bill and becky you are getting a non mass produced L500 or whatever model you order, when you get the BL USA they are mass produced but the spec's are exactly the same.
IMHO i think it is better to order from bill and becky,even though there is a wait time i just feel like i am getting a handwound pu that had a little more care go into it than with the BL USA ones. sound wise there is little IF any

I know you weren't replying to me, but at least in this instance, it really doesn't matter to me which pickup it is since it came already installed on the guitar and somebody ELSE paid for it! Heck, I didn't even know about the two different companies. Anyway, it does sound really good, and clear....clear...that's the word that comes to mind. Meaning that I guess it doesn't cover up my slop too well. Gotta get me something cheap and muddy to rectify that situation pronto!
