So, it looks like an Indian made promod would be possible, judging from this guitar. Not too far from a so-cal. Interesting.

Anyway yes these look very close to my so cal, so much so that unless i want a leftover NOS so cal or a used one i may get one of these?
here is my so cal to compare to the adrian,BTW one thing i prefer on the adrian is the input jack location!

This shred-able axe gives you the San Dimas shape, HSS pickup configuration, and Floyd Rose tremolo system preferred by Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith.
I will do a full complete accurate review comparing it to my so cal and i will be very unbiased about it!Last edited by CHARVEL_strat_81; 08-07-2012, 05:41 PM.

I played one last weekend. Overall, I'd give it a B. The neck was pretty good - had the right shape, but was missing the "feel" of the SD necks. That could be remedied though. The action was high for my liking, but again easily remedied. The pickups were fine, and I actually like the neck single. Can't comment on the middle position though - it didn't work. That's the big deduction. Would I buy one? Yeah. But I'd probably grab a slightly used SoCal first. Cool guitar overall though.

The fretboard plays extremely well and the QC tag said it was at 0.5mm/0.5 mm at the 1st and 1.5mm/1.55mm at the 12th. That's a low action set from the factory... no dead spots, no string buzz. As good or better than most of the US Jacksons I've owned. But the quality just isn't there. But it's actually really nice. Under $500, a neck-thru that feels pretty amazing and came with USA EMGs.
M adrian should arrive tomorrow and i will run it through all the paces then post a review of it compared to my so cal.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on one of these too. Who can argue for £335 delivered....
Few things concern me though.
I have a phobia of basswood, what do these bodies sound like again? I only have alder, ash and mahogany. I know Jackson used to use Basswood a lot of medium end guitars in the early '90's, but the floyd posts started rocking and then fell out of the last Basswood Jackson I had.
How does the neck compare to a Pro Mod? I see its an oil finish, so saying I got it dressed and rolled it a bit would it be as nice?
I see it as worth it IF you have a Distortion lying about with an OFR and some Gotoh tuners and some CTS pots....but then if you have if you have those hanging about anyway, then I say to myself, why not get a white alder body and put it together myself with a Pro Mod neck...but of course the hidden extras like the stratchplate, jacks and shipping etc. soon eat up the cash slack.
But what is really appealing to me is that oiled flatsawn neck with the truss at the butt...I don't know why really, but its making me emotional, if the basswood sounds OK and is durable I'II pull the trigger and bank in £40 resale value for that FR Special and the Jackson Pickups/Tuners. ...well that and the fact the 'New' guarantee should cover any neck twist, if it does twist in the humidity.
What's the verdict on the neck and body? I mean if the neck is no go, it is basically a non-starter as there is nothing else there.Last edited by ginsambo; 08-08-2012, 12:26 PM.You can't really be jealous of something you can't fathom.

The SLSXMG I had was basswood (neck thru model though) and it sounded fantastic, I was really surprised. Workmanship was under par but it sounded great and played ok too.Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to... Delaware. Hi... Im in... Delaware...
