just to chime in again, if anybody is on the fence in regards to buying one of these india made jackson as models, go play one because it was mentioned before not to trust all the guitars that come out of a third world country as far as build quality but this guitar is amazing. the thing that stands out the most to me is the neck, it is almost perfect. the frets are dressed great, i have had guitars worth a lot more that needed fret work but not this one.....now i can't speak for all of them but mine is great, white on white with a rosewood board....im going to go back and play now

and just to point out while i think the $499 SDX is amazing for the $$$ it is no where near the feel of a USA charvel and i would know i own 5 usa charvels and one of these adrians. I have played a few SDX's and they are pretty consistant which is obviously a good thing.Last edited by CHARVEL_strat_81; 09-15-2012, 12:48 AM.

I am of the decent production neck, great aftermarket decent wood body with custom paint and buy your own hardware and pups school.
Still really tempted by the value that this guitar seems to offer, expecially in Europe/UK. I hear the custom options for basswood. But I am so fearful, not of tone, but of longevity of basswood. As said an old Jackson Stealth I had, I think was basswood couldn't hold it's floyd posts adequately as the wood was way to soft, almost like balsa. I know basswood is preferred on production as it doesn't wear machining bits and is easy to paint.
But basswood is used for making Crates and Boxes and preferred by woodcarvers because it is so soft and light...so how does it last longterm with abuse in a guitar? Seriously if the experience is a definite yes I am getting one. And were the Stealth's even basswood or were they poplar? I guess even if the body goes in a few years they still represent excellent value for money.
How heavy are these SDX's say compared to an Alder Pro Mod? (Using weight as a measure of density or how hard they might be)You can't really be jealous of something you can't fathom.

Sold some low end guitars today and hit GC and picked up a new SDX AS with the rosewood board.
I am very happy with it a very solid great playing /sounding guitar.
Weight is nice too 8.7lbs.Fit and finish are damn nice too.
Floyd special feels great too stays in tune and I have pushed it hard.Very stable and smooth.
Pick ups sound great as well, the singles are very quiet and the bridge hum is on the dark side.
All in all even with the original strings and factory set up it smokes.Really? well screw Mark Twain.
