  • Why?

I am new to the Jackson Community and the Floyd Rose setup in particular and was wondering why so many tremolo covers have been removed? Is this a coincidence or is there a valid reason for doing so? Thanks...Cosmo

cause people are lazy and removing 6 screws to adjust the springs when they restring or adjust tuning is just to much work.

I always thought it was the style bay bay. I always keep mine on. never know when a stray pair of panties are going to get thrown at me while I am on stage, and I wouldnt want them to get caught in the floyd when I am rippin out a wicked solo for the groupies.

That's why whenever I place a custom order I always say "no truss cover" "no trem cover".

What they said...even about the panties! But some dudes change out the trem block for a bigger brass block and it sticks out of the cavity too far to put the plate back on...

Some guitarists aren't that bright, you know? Many take the trem cover off looking for the "trust rod adjustment", and then can't ever figure out how to put it back on.

Nah, you caught me in a white lie of sorts. In reality, most guitarists aren't that bright.

I've got an EJ strat on the way, they come without a trem cover.

I leave mine on because the last thing I want while playing is for all the hair on my belly to be pulled out by the springs. I really like the newer covers that have openings cut to adjust the trem claw.
