  • NGD 1990 Rhoads Pro...

    It's finally here...

Well I must say that I'm impressed with the craftmanship of the guitar and everything is flawless... The guitar plays like a dream...
I found the guitar looking at the Guitar Center used gear page. The guitar had a 899$ price tag, and speaking with the manager he agreed to lower the price to 799$ (that for the guitar and the original hardshell case)
The guitar is in really good condition for his age... It looks like the owner used it for home practicing only and never played the guitar that much (I can't understand why, because I could not keep my hands off that guitar)...
The guitar only have a small ding in the upper wing and another one in the tip of the headstock... all in all, the guitar looks like new... it has almost no rust in the hardware, the pups still have the jackson logo like the first day and the cavity control looks like no one never opened it up.
It's a beatuiful pearl white color which it's decolored to a light yellowish tone around the borders of the body which looks like a very light sunburst kinda finish...
The guitar sounds incredible, but I must say that the active controls produce a big amount of noise, so I try just to barely use the knob, or not at all...
The pickups sound very articulate and defined, but I wonder why Jackson use a Paf Type low output pickup (J50) in a guitar that it's supposed to play heavy and aggresive music, I don't know why not put a ceramic pickup or a high output one on this guitar, I know most people change the pickups to EMG's and I wonder how the guitar would sound, but I like the guitar in her stock form.

Here are some pics of this beauty....

    Beautiful MOP inlays and logo:

    Frets like new

I don't know much, but it looks like a low serial number (J001783)

Here it is along with her Warrior sister...

Cool beans, man. Usually those GC used pieces are beat!

I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

Looks just like my 1992 USA RR1 (except for the headstock details). And my RR1 has J90C in the bridge - I forget the neck pickup.
