Just outta curiosity- what's the point of the tilted heel end of the fret board? Reminds me of the Hamer Californian.

In order to find a skin to cover the whole front of a guitar you would need a python a retic would look really nice!!I suggest you join a reptile forum. And start looking for someone who's snake has died. a berm would be bland and a rock also bland,,,retics have some really nice patterns.I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

Any of the decals look pretty good and from what I've read they stay on pretty good. I would def ditch the pickguard it looks really out of place. I've thought about doing a couple of my guitars with the decals but the ones that need it have some chips in them so a repaint is more my speed. I used to work in a body shop when I was younger and that stuff came pretty easy to me.I want to go out nice and peaceful in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.

I remember someone posting a snakeskin primer a long time ago. They used an orange bag (the mesh bag fruit comes in) to paint the scales and because the bag is stretching to match the contours of the guitar, the scales varied in size. So it looked more natural, the scales weren't uniform. Once the scales are on the guitar, the bag was removed and detail added.
I also remember some discussion about Warren D's real snakeskin Performance guitar. Didn't covering the guitar in real snakeskin deaden the sound or something?Hail yesterday

Pic 2 of yours. The copper/brown color & no pickguard. That one looks classy to my eye.KV DM PRO, SLSXMG, RRXMG, DXMG, LP P90 Goldtop_GSP1101_RM4: JF SL-OD100_Randall RT2/50_Peavey 4x12 cab
I'm loving the Jaded Faith mods. Going Egnater Dual mod route: Voxless, SL-OD100, Brahma #39, QuickMod GT

NO PICK GUARD please that looks awful. As we all know pick guards rob tone.
I have used onion sacks to do the scales.Real easy to do.
Angled fret board kills it for me.
If you like it fine IMO it throws the lines of the guitar all off.Last edited by straycat; 11-07-2012, 09:59 PM.Really? well screw Mark Twain.
