Just bought a SLX

Looks nice. I have had so many black guitars that I went with something different (white). Actually the last 2 have been finally not black (Gold Top P90 Les PAul, & the white SLSXMG)
I think just to add some contrast you should chrome it out. The pick you showed of the Elite looks damn good, especially with the black fine tuners on the chrome Floyd.

Holy crap.. For a regular old black guitar that looks really good! The white binding stands out better than the ivory looking stuff. I have an '87 Model 6 and a '94 Kelly XL that both have rosewood and look ebony dark like that. Very cool..

Thanks i really am loving this one! smokes my DK2's and kelly! hey guys i need your vote? I was considering puttin on some chrome pup rings and knobs? kind of like the ELITE here but no chrome floyd or tuners? or should i leave her mostly blacked out? BTW, the more i play the SLX the more i am finding out how great these really are or i just got a really sweet one? seriously i have played many SL2H's from pre fenders to present and this new SLX rivals them in playability?

I agree and am really considering adding some chrome highlights like the rings and knobs for starters

As the chrome hardware (besides the Alumiloid Inlays) was one i thing i just really didn't get used to on my two Elites i had, i would leave it black.
I don't know why but i absolutely prefer black hardware on Jacksons, even on transparent finishes.

Maybe a set of zebra duncans and leave the rest all black? I hate to say it but standard chrome CAN make a guitar look cheap, like on the old DK-2's with all chrome, they do not look as nice as my trans red 2008 DK-2 with all black hardware.
I actually prefer what is called black chrome(smoked chrome) or as ibanez calls it cosmo black

Black chrome is my favorite. I have kind of a frosted chrome on my ke3; it's not shiny like regular chrome and I like it.

cool, i love the SLX just as it is but was thinking wow this thing is as black as you can get! all i can see is the binding and inlays which is kind of cool cause it makes the logo and the sharkfins really pop out
definitely a menacing looking soloist with nothing contrasting on it

Most have the very dark rosewood for whatever reason and i promise you you will love these! best import i ever played yet.
the more i play on it the more i love it. IF you did not know where it was made you would swear you were playing a USA SL2H
