  • Need help with Pre Fender Kelly Information.

Hi, i'm new to the forum. I have owned quite a few Jackson Guitars but I would like help gathering information about my most recent purchase.
I got a Jackson Kelly KE3, advertised as being from the Pre Fender era. It appears to be Transparent Dark Blue (Does anyone have any information on this finish?). It has no serial number stamped on the neck but there is one on the bolt on plate, its serial number is 00040104. It has a single volume knob and a Three way toggle switch. It Originally had Chrome Hardware too. It feels heavier than modern Jackson Guitars of the same price range as well. The neck feels nice and dense. The fingerboard is smooth and fast too.
Can anyone give me any information about this Guitar, such as narrowing down the years it could be from, the Transparent Dark Blue Finish it has, or anything else about it. Thanks.

Pics would help. But that serial doesnt seem right for a KE3. maybe a KX10D.\\

Ser # indicates made in India during the year 2000. So KX10D is a good guess.

The 2000 catalog scan at audiozone is super blurry, but

As usual Ron's correct. Clearly Indian, the lower horn looks somewhat out of proportion and the headstock seems to be showing too much unpainted area? Have you 'modified' it?
Anyways, I've yet to meet a Kelly that I didn't like. Incredible guitars, enjoy!!!
