    I still prefer thin necks, but I can deal with my fat Gibsons. I don't have hand cramping issues. I guess it's good that they make different necks for different people.

      Different profiles also help with working different hand muscles and exposing inconsistencies in playing. If you're much faster with a slim taper neck than you are with something like a 50s Gibson, there may be some underlying issues with your technique that need to be worked on.
