New help with Identifying a jackson guitar.

Hi GUys, how are you??i want to thank you all once again for helping me identifying my Jackson DKMGFF


I got it from my tech one week ago , although its a really nice guitar, it has some annoying features that i dislike. Thats the reason im posting this thread.

The neck is thicker and narrower than i expected. The bridge is too close to the neck and neck pickup. and the body countour is unconfortable.

A friend of mine just popped up with an ALMOST SImilar guitar he bought used in CANADA. It has almost the same features as mine, except for the flames on the fretboard. and the archtop on my jackson. the bridge is closer to the end of the body. it has a larger contour for last fret access and i m in love with the guitar.
But this friend dont know nothing about the guitar, and he claims its japanese.
SO here i am to ask you once again for help.

i ALready checked the serial number sticky thread and i think it falls on the MIJ Cathegory. but i still have no clue on which model is it.

Looks like a dxmg. Pickup/bridge dimensions should be identical. Its basically the same guitar without the carved top or flames.

The bridge is positioned considerably closer to the end of the body in comparison to my dkmgff . on my dkmgff both body horns has some contour on this one Not. AND the lower horn is bigger than on my dkmgff. those are small differences but for me they mean a lot.

If you don't like it, get rid of it. A used DXMG should be 1/2 of what you could get for the DKMGFF.

Only the first year of DXMG's were made in India. All other years were MIJ, including your friends.

so the dkmgff worth is expensiver than the dxmg ?!!?

Its like, im sensitive to every minor difference in construction in a guitar.
for an example... if you take a guitar with a 24.75 scale length , you will notice that the bridge sits somewhat closer to the neck than a 25.5 would. and if you take an extreme case, like a baritone 26 or 27 scale length guitar, the bridge will be evem more positioned in towards the end of the body. they do that to acomodate the intonation and etc. the longer the scale, the more it is goes back towards the end of the body. and the shorter the scale, the more it will go closer to the end of the neck.

did i explain it right now? its hard to translate it to english. ahahahah

Hmm. The guitars should have the same dimensions. Since both guitars are 25.5" scale the bridge will be in the exact same 'position' on both guitars (25.5" from the nut). The only reason the distance from the bridge to the end of the guitar would be shorter is because the body is smaller, but this doesn't change the position of the bridge.

oK.. BUT IM sure that the lower horn is longer than on my dkmgff. and the neck has a slightly thinner neck in comparison to my dkmgff.

plus, the dkmgff has two contoured/carved horns and the other one doesnt .

Ive had a dkmg and a dxmg and never noticed any difference in body size. In your pic it does look like the dkmg has a bigger lower bout. Is it not normal dinky sized? Is the ff model some special model with a different sized body? I thought it was just a dkmg with fancy inlays in the neck. I see the scalloped horns which might make it seem smaller. In the 2 pics I have here I believe the dxmg here is made in india with the non lp version of the jt580 trem, which is shorter. This might make it seem as though the trem is closer to the neck because your palm rests on the fine tuners which are indeed closer to the neck because the trem is shorter. If you go by the trem rout, then the dimensions should be the same. Body size should be the same. The dxmg is a fine guitar. I would actually prefer it as I dont like the flames or require the afterburner setup. And yes neck shapes can vary a bit.
