  • SL3MG is this a good deal? pics inside

    Hi there.

I have the oppotunity to buy this guitar.
It looks like a SL3MG, but it has archtop body, I thought the SL3 has a normal body. It looks like it has a black metallic finish, and I never seen that finish in a SL3
Could someone give some imput about the guitar?
It is a killer deal $380 with hardshell case shipped.... how can I say no?

I didn't find this in the USA 2006 catalog; since you are in South America it's probably a non US model.
        SL3 did not have binding.
Serial number indicates a MIJ Soloist.
        Looks cool, grab it!

Ditto to what others have said. $380 for a nice Soloist with case. I don't think you can go wrong. Looks to be in good shape.

As Ron said SL3s did not have binding.
KV DM PRO, SLSXMG, RRXMG, DXMG, LP P90 Goldtop_GSP1101_RM4: JF SL-OD100_Randall RT2/50_Peavey 4x12 cab
I'm loving the Jaded Faith mods. Going Egnater Dual mod route: Voxless, SL-OD100, Brahma #39, QuickMod GT

I believe it was a special run done by Sam Ash music. They did the model that you are asking about and a Trans Blue one that was erroneously named SL2.
Here is a picture of the blue one.

I was doing a little research and yes, it looks like the Sam Ash Soloist.
                  I found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-2006-Ja...51141657400%26

I wonder if those are the specs.
I don't think the guitar has pearl inlays, and I red somewhere that the guitar was alder body. In some places they say that it has OFR and others say that is a korean OFR-02000.
Does someone knows the story of the sam ash soloist run and what are the specs?

                  Thanks

I remember the Sam Ash special run Soloists (confusingly called SL2H) but were they arch top?

Yeah, they had an arch top. I got to play one at the Sam Ash on 48th St. in NYC. That particular one didn't blow me away, but I'm sure they're good overall. That's a ridiculously good deal for $380.
