my kelly idea

I was thinking of doing something like this. The bevels would whats called hammer steel. What do you guys think? Maybe blood red bevels? IDK

Red does look pretty nice too. The only concern I have with going hammered steel is the texture the paint creates. Hmmmm

I like the hammered steel color. If it comes with a texture, why not find the same color without the texture.

I vote for the sharkies too. I've got a DKMG and the piranhas look fine there, but a Kelly needs sharkies...on my Kelly project, I went with the DMXG neck...

Im being cheap and using what paint I already have lol. I would really like no inlays and the dkmg neck is as close as i can get with binding. That and i have a kelly w sharkies. If only i still had my XLR . I remember your project. That rising sun is killer.

I got the guitar today and it has a good sized ding at the edge of the bevel. Guess ill need to do some touch up work first. Still it basically cost me $200 so far and i have a kelly std body, emgs, and the dkmg neck. Oh and electronics and trem of course. Another $80 in painting stuff will still leave me w a good deal
