    Hey, this is my firts post here. I'm from São Paulo - Brazil.

    I got this Jackson SLXT on ebay. It's one of those "seller refurbished" guitars. Actually it just has some scuffs on the headstock tip.
    Seems to be a good guitar, really light, and the neck profile is great. The finish is not my favorite but it's ok. These trans black finish with EMGs look like schecter stuff.:think:

    I'll replace the pickups, and I have 3 options: EMG 81/85, Duncan JB/Jazz or Jackson J80C/J50BC.

    Cool. I like Jackson pickups, but I'd use both of those in a bridge, not neck. So either the SD's or the EMG's would fit the bill.

      Welcome. If using EMGs, I'd suggest trying the 85 in the bridge and the 81 in the neck. You can always easily swap them around to see what sounds best to you.

        I tried the 85 in the bridge one time, but it can't beat the 81 in my opinion. I think the 81 has a tighter low end that I like. It's my favorite pickup by far, but I got a JB some time ago and I liked it a lot too. I didn't try the jackson pups yet, just the new CVR-2. These are not good.

                  I have the EMGX set in a Jackson string through body with an 87 Charvel Maple neck on it. For a mutt it kills. The X set is a bit heavier than the standard Zakk 81/85 set but still cleans up nice. I find myself playing that guitar more than even my USA Pro Mod. Overall they are great pickups and I give them a big thumbs up!

                    Transblack is a nice finish i think. Never compare a Jackson to a schecter again

                      Yeah, Schecter isn't even in the same league as a Jackson. I like the trans black... Congrats on the guitar

                              I rather like trans black on Jacksons. The KEXMG model looks WAY killer in trans black.
