So ,I have the basic ,vanilla, standard ,white 2008-2010 Jackson DK2M Dinky Guitar, with a Jackson ,Licensed Floyd tremelo, and I am starting to lose faith in it . It seems like the fine tuning screws are stripped a little bit. I have determined ,that this guitar is worth putting an original German FR trem system on. Just wondering ,can anyone help me to pick the correct model that will fit on this Axe ,without having to route or chisel ? Any input ,greatly appreciated !!
sorry for the nonsense vid ,but this is my exact Guitar. I just do not want to spend $225.00 ,and get the wrong trem unit. Sorry for my Newb-ness!

I believe a OFR will fit the route. Your guitar has the Jt-580lp tremolo. Someone asked the same thing not long ago....yup heres the thread http://www.jcfonline.com/threads/136...o-substitution

Yup. An original floyd with definitely fit. I just did this on the same exact guitar a month or so ago. Dropped right in. If for some reason you get one with too long of a block, the block from the factory trem will fit. I had to swap mine until I got a brass one of the right size. I was actually very impressed with the Jt580lp trem. It took a lot of thinking on my part to swap it for the original. I'm now glad I did but I still really liked the stock trem.

Did we ever find out if the DK hardware was upgraded to something better when they switched from Chrome to black? I remember chatter saying the trem was made with harder steel. About the same time the pickups were upgraded from Duncan Designed to real Seymour Duncan pickups.
Basically, I'm asking if the 2006+ black JT-580LP is any better than the chrome version.

An OFR will drop right in. I've done this on all of the DK2M's I've had. Didn't replace the nut either."Some days you're the dog, other days you're the hydrant." - on the back of the business card for Bella the Pomeranian

Any guitar with the 580LP will take an OFR, since the "rocker arms" stick out as far as the Floyd screws. It's the older ones that use the 580 (non-LP) and 590 that require the Schaller (which, the 590 was the Schaller, but still..)I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

The JT 580 LP is a great trem why people bash them is beyond me.
I have had plenty of guitars with that trem and never had a problem with them.
The ONLY part I have had to replace were the trem studs and when I did I used OFR studs.Really? well screw Mark Twain.
