The thing i think is, its hard to find a left handed jackson nowadays. I dont really look but ive only seen a a leftie dk a handful of times.

To the OP - there are no plastic floyds lol. There are cheaply coated metal ones that sorta look plastic like

There are plenty of inexpensive Charvels.
        Avoid Charvette though.
But a Charvel is not the same as a Jackson.

And...if you would pay attention there have been many great suggestions regarding low cost Jacksons.
I'm left handed so any suggestions are already more difficult to find. If something that I can't pass up come across my eyes, then I'll get it.

I'd get a Charvel for the simple fact of how Criss Oliva made them sound. There aren't any signature models bearing his name, and there should be.

Do you think that may be the problem I'm having with the feel of the strings and sustain?

                No, I don't think I'm being a jerk either.
Yes LH Jacksons are difficult to find, but they exist (somewhere).

I'm left handed, been that way for as long as I can remember.
Resisted the temptation to string up my first guitar LH and learned right handed
knowing it would probably "burn me" many times in my future choices if I learned left handed.

As far as I'm concerned it's a choice you made.
There are other lefties around here that play right handed.

Practicing for a school play, a teacher handed me a blow up guitar, and it felt right to hold it left handed. I was about 8 years old at the time, and wouldn't pick up guitar until I was about 15. But, teachers being the way they are and knowing what's "right," she told me to hold it the other way. I tried telling her it felt comfortable the way I was holding it, but she wouldn't have any of that. I would imagine that cemented playing left handed, that one time I was handed a blow up guitar and held it that way for the first time. There's nothing I could've done to change that, even if I practiced righty for 5 hours a day.

True, it would be nearly impossible to change now.
I couldn't even imagine switching after 30 something years.

It's traditional around here to give all noobs a hard time.
If you survive, you eventually will become one of us.
I went through the same thing and I'm still around.

                      Welcome aboard.

It could be weak pickups, bad/loose locks, dead strings. I dont see how a bad trem could make the strings feel cheap. What type of pickups do you have in the peavey and what type of strings do you use?

Stock pickups, and I'm going to put another set of Ernie Ball 9's on in the afternoon sometime.

Id say put some real pickups in the peavey if you like the guitar. Go for the stealth if you have to get one now. You could probably send him an offer now the auction has ended.

Careless people like to break the pointy tips off of Charvel/Jackson headstocks. Same with the pointy edges of a V-shaped body. This kind of damage is common. Always check this on a used guitar. When a seller avoids photographing that part of a guitar, a red flag is raised and then questions to the seller become necessary. The auction you mentioned fits this category.

Duncan Custom Trembuckers? I like how they sound, and they're also pretty crisp and clear. Also been wanting the SD Liberator since the first time I read what it was.
