It was from their St. Patrick's Day Sale that they extended to today. $100 off $499 or more

Sweet deal man!! I played an Adrian Smith Sig today at GC as well and even with the horrible set-up, she still played and sounded great.

That was the coolest part...off the wall the Floyd was set way high...and tuning was a bit flat. I asked the tech for an allen wrench to unlock the nut and he said he'd tune it. He then asked what strings I liked (EB 10's) and proceeded to adjust the neck, adjust the Floyd, AND string it with a new set of 10's all just to make the sale. No charge to me. It was awesome! The Floyd isn't exactly how I like it, but it took 5 minutes at home to get it just right, and I thought he went out of his way..especially after hearing him tell another customer he was back logged by 2 months on work orders.

I am in love with this guitar, I just knew it was right when I started playing it...

That is a bitchin' guitar man. The action was great on the one I tried in the store, but I don't think I jive with top mount floyds myself. Also it's not often you get GC employees going out of their way to help like that.

Those are bad ass I love mine.
I got one just like yours and it had a few issues so I took it back and ordered one with the maple board.
It had the same small issues but I figured it would have a few and I was going to mod it anyway.
Worked out the bugs and its one hell of a great playing guitar.Abused it at two gigs and performed perfectly.
              Congrats on a great guitar!!

Surprised they honored the St Pattys day coupon, as Jackson is one of the dozens and dozens of excluded vendors for that promotion.

Congrats! Got one in my store, if it was the maple boarded version I would have taken it home by now.

                  What issues?

I have this one but I bought it used. The only issue I see is that some dumbass took steel wood to the frets and scuffed up the fretboard. This is why I use gorgamyte(sp?). The setup was horrible (again - used) the Floyd was sitting on it's ass. Nothing hard to correct.

Congrats! Been loving my maple boarded model for months now!! I am, however, on the lookout for a rosewood boarded lil' sister for her.

Congrats, that's a great price for a nice guitar. I haven't played one yet, how are the Jackson pups on these?

I am highly unimpressed by the single's...but then again, I'm not a single coil guy myself...
The stock humbucker is nice...it looks like and is probably made to emulate the Dimarzio Super Distortion on the US model...I just put an Alnico 8 magnet in the humbucker though and I am in love with it. REALLY loving it with the 8 in there...

I posted a complete thread on all the things I had to do to mine to make it right.
Just small stuff really if you search I'm sure you can find it.
I gutted the pick ups and electronics and went with an 80's Super D and two SDS -1 DiMarzios.RS guitarworks pot upgrade kit.
Replaced the tiny zinc trem sustain block with a 37 mm brass block.
Had issues with the original nut because the two E strings sat too close to the edge of the fingerboard so I put an OFR R 3 nut on it.
The trem claw screws were bent so I used a set of Fender neck plate screws that should have been used in the first place.
The stock singles are Fender noiseless and pretty good, the stock hum isn't bad at all IMO.

I have to say the fit and finish of the guitar are excellent and the neck is as good as any of my USA bolt ons.
Its a solid guitar and a steal for the money.

OOOO steel wool will polish the frets and take out any marks on the fret board.

Ok, I guess I had better luck with mine. I really like the stock electronics an will not be swapping it out. If it needed it, I would have returned it. No issues with E strings, but I can see how they may not have considered the rounded fretboard when choosing te nut. No issue with trem claw screws.

I'd call this an upgrade not an issue. I might do the same with mine - I have the block, but the guitar sounds great to me so why mess with it? Don't fix it if it isn't broke?

NO!!!! You'll scratch up the maple fretboard!!! Use Gorgamyte.

DonP I guess you could call the trem block and pick ups/electronics an upgrade but the nut and trem claw screws I would call an issue.
The trem springs with the short block were hitting the body on mine.Had too much of an angle so when the trem was level the claw sat too high and the rear cover plate wouldn't sit all the way down where it should.
The pick ups and electronics were quite good I will say that.
Steel wool didn't scratch my fretboard at all.
