Need helpng identifying country of origin

The guitar is a red flame veneered DXMGT....AT headstock style. String thru, EMG HZ pickups, 24 sharkfin inlays, bound neck. Serial # 9736864. I think this style was made in Japan and India. If it's Japanese I may trade for it. Seller says it was made in 1993.
