  • Jackson Humbucker with three wires?

I am working on a Jackson PS-2 HSS model and every wiring diagram for the humbucker has red, green, bare, and white listed. The wires for this pickup are Bare, White, and Black. I know that bare is ground but what about the white and black? Which one is the hot wire? Do the white and bare get soldered together?

im pretty sure its black and bare, white hot. if its not, then its white and bare and black hot, but im pretty sure its white hot.

edit-fwiw both black and white are hot, but you want the hum to be in phase with the other pickups. look at it like this, bare is ground and the two leads are the hot from each coil so running one of the hot leads to the ground is like running the humbucker in series while running both hots together is running the humbucker parallel. hope that helps.

White and Black are interchangeable, depending on how it sounds with the middle.
