  • NGD: Jackson DK2M (2007ish)

I grabbed this off craigslist last night for $220, including a gator case. It's got a couple of nicks in the finish, and definitely needs a setup, but otherwise is in really nice shape.

It's got the Seymour Duncans (I believe a SH2N jazz in the neck and a JB4 in the bridge) and the licensed Floyd Rose. The pickups sound great, and the neck is nice and quick, though maybe not as quick as my 90s Dinky.

It joins a collection of Jacksons: 1989 USA custom (three humbuckers, one-piece ash body, ebony neck), a 1992 Dinky reverse pro (also a maple neck, but with a basswood body), and a 1987 Charvel Model 4.

    Enjoy.

Anyone have interest in seeing the nicks? At first I didn't think anyone would care, but you never know...

For $220, I would not be bothered about the nicks.

Thanks. I was definitely second guessing myself because of them.

Damn! Don't doubt for a second that you got an amazing deal. Those gator cases run around $70 new and the guitar by its self is around $400. Congrats on the deal! I love DK2M's

That's really sharp! I really like the maple necks with the black sharkfins.

I played it for a bit last night. The pickups are beautiful -- very rich and full sounding -- and I love the neck. The problem is the bridge is out of whack and I think the truss rod needs a twist, so the action is not what it could be. I'll be bringing it to my tech tomorrow and get it in shape.

Great score, Brah. I've got one identical to it, and if yours is anything like mine, you're
in for a real treat. amazing price on that one too!

Nice grab. I just did a few mods to mine (including eliminating the tone knob and moving the volume to the lower tone knob position because my pick hand kept hitting the volume) and it's better than ever. This will prove to be one of the biggest guitar steals of your lifetime--enjoy!
