First, my thoughts on the guitar.
Looks pretty well made, 2 slight blemishes but quite good for a $249 guitar. The binding is white but the headstock doesn't seem to know if it should be white or ivoroid, a bit of discolouration no doubt. One horn has the slightest dull spot, maybe the clear didn't go on there completely. It's pretty hard to see it.
One scratch thanks to the wrestlers at customs (dickheads). They didn't even wrap the bloody thing back up, just shoved the foam bag thing under the neck, sheesh.
Great neck profile, rounded but thin. Fret ends are a little rough but this never bothers me, may piss others off though.
Pick ups sound pretty good, it's obvious they are cheap but still have plenty of balls to them without being muddy. They have quite a level eq to them.
It's going to take me a while to get use to a string thru but it's fairly easy to deal with although it does need a set up, intonation is out on the G string (that always sux). It doesn't hand wild bends to well, I'm just use to floyds I guess.
Overall it's a pretty awesome axe for the money, the JS series is definitely improving without hoisting the price. Nice work Jackson.
Pic time.....................
