  • Duncan on DK2

    I just bought a 2010 DK2 HSH with Seymore Duncan's.
My question is are some of the metal parts of the pick ups suppose to be protruding and some recessed?
It does not look correct to me.
    Thanks.

I can't see. Maybe you should try posting a picture?

FWIW, there was NEVER an HSH DK2. Only HSS, or maybe HH (unless those were only DK2M's).

Sorry my bad I meant HSS.
I can't figure out how to post an image.

Are you talking about the pole pieces with the slots on the humbucker? They can be adjusted with a screwdriver to compensate for each individual string. Or if you're talking about the single coils, they can be either even or staggered heights on certain models.

I am mostly talking about the single coils. The humbucker metal pole pieces are all recessed.

Yes that is correct. Single coils have had poles like this since the 1950s. The single coil pickups in your DK2 are Strat style singles to simulate Stratocaster tones.

If you don't like it, replace them with flat pole pickups.

Yep, they're staggered poles and are supposed to look like that.
