Jackson Warrior Experts needed for ID

Are you quite sure the serial number doesn't start with a U, like off to the side and not directly against the others? I'm looking at the 2000 USA Catalog and the 2-hum Warrior is not listed in the table of contents or shown in the catalog. I'm not sure when it became a USA Select, though. It's in the Custom Shop page of the '99 catalog, but not in the USA Select pages.

I'm looking at the Ebay listing, and the board definitely looks like rosewood, but I've got striped ebony boards that do as well (though not that light under my house lighting). Are the backplates plastic or brushed aluminum? The trem could have been swapped for a 590, but metal vs plastic plates is another story.

I havent seen it in person, but that is what I was told. I even asked if they were sure it was a 0 and not a U.

I thought the import WRXT was first. I remember Ken saying that he tried one and thought it was weird as it didn't have bevels at first, or the bevels were different or some shit.

Can't imagine the XT not having bevels. He may have been speaking of it feeling weird to have a bolt neck. Someone would have to find him and ask.

Going through the catalogs I downloaded from Jackson's site, the WRXT and WR1 both first appeared in the 2001 catalog. The spec list says bolt-on for the XT. The catalog image shows the same blue as the guitar in this thread, and nothing after the logo. It's possible (though unlikely IMO) they made a neckthrough prototype and used that for the catalog, and the guitar in question is that guitar.
Before that, the Warrior only appears as a Custom option.

As an aside, I never noticed the doubleneck SG they built for Charlie Benante (97 catalog). Trapezoid inlays, better upper fret access than the Gibson, "Jack" on the 12 head, "son" on the 6 head. Sweet.

I still say it's a Jackson Stars TN-02 that someone removed the "Stars" from.

According to info I got from a reputable source some years ago, some of the JacksonStars were made in America and finished in Japan, and some were made in Japan and finished in America. Not quite sure how long this went on, or what models were involved.

An interesting point is that this is in Ft Worth - Pre-Fender Jackson HQ.
I'm wondering if Kevin Easton could shed some light on this particular item. Was it a leftover from HQ that someone took home? Was it sent to FW for repair/re-whatever and "consumed"? Will Mary tell Don who the father is? Will Will's will hold up in court?

Don't we have JCFers in/near the place that can go put an eyeball on it? I'm not going for it due to the rosewood board, but it'd be nice to figure out what this thing is. Maybe see if the headstock looks like it shows signs of a re-logo, or an overly-slick headstock polish?

I still think its a WRXMG and someone at the Indonesian plant made an error, hence the regular headstock.. maybe. I doubt its a Jackson Stars. For starters, a neckthru Stars would have an ebony board, not rosewood. The "feeling weird" comment could be a referral to the body shape characteristics with an emphasis on the top horn sticking out higher than it does on non-Stars Warriors. I have seen the Stars version of the Warrior and the body is definitely different to the Warrior in the ebay link.

IMHO, Not a WRXMG, no battery compartment, not a floyd special, the binding seems thicker than any Indonesian I’ve seen, it’s also yellowed.
Seems genuine.
Weren’t the “XL” s a notch down from the top, hence the rosewood

The TN-01 has ebony, the TN-02 has rosewood.

AFAIK, the Warrior Pro didn't live long enough to get an XL version like the Soloist, Rhoads, and Kelly. It was an instant flop and was dropped by 1991. If you find one with a 1992 serial, I'd be shocked.

I ended up buying this guitar from Zoo Music in Ft Worth. Im still baffeled on what it actually is. My thoughts are that it is a prototype? The tremolo seems to be a JT500. Kind of a strange screw type bar.

Well its a 6 years necrobump and the eBay listing is long gone, but there's been a few more Jackson Stars discovery since then. Given the rosewood board and the supposed "Warrior XL" name in the listing, I'm guessing its a Jackson Stars Japan Spirit Series WR-138. Poplar body, Bound neck through Rosewood board, JT-590 in Metallic Dark Blue. Headstock logo might've been refinished to remove the Jackson Stars branding

Its the first generation Jackson Stars after the rebrand from the Grover Jackson branding, by 04/05 (allegedly due to poor sale and poor management) it was cut down to the model and naming system you can find on the publicly available catalog
