  • What Other Neck Than A 24 fret DK2 Will Work On this Body?

I figure maybe a Kelly? And of Course a 24 fret DK2 but what other Charvel/Jackson Neck will bolt directly on & intonate on this DK2 SKL Body?
I'm looking for a NECK.. Maple Rosewood fretboard it really doesn't matter..

I need a neck plate too..

    Thanks!!

Any 24 fret Jackson neck should work. The only one that wont is the JTX if I remember right.
    It's pronounced soops

99% of all Japanese imported 24 fret necks will work on that body perfectly. Of course it needs to be cut for a floyd locknut too.

It has to be from the same time period to accomodate the neck bolts. Older 90s models used larger bolts which can split the pocket, while more recent bolts on an older neck that took the larger bolts will be loose.

This is partly true but just make sure that the heel is 2 1/4, because some import jackson's are 2 3/16 like my performer ps4, also has thinner neck bolts. Most 24 fret Jackson necks should work, as mentioned prior, but try and stick to the same time period and you should be ok.

BTW, How do like the Duncan P-rails? I have wanted to try one forever. Or haven't you heard it yet?

I had a P-rails and the humbucker mode was a dark muddy mess. I couldn't rip it out fast enough. The split coil modes were semi-decent.

Most folks on the Duncan board suggest turning the PRails around so the Rail is to the outside, rather than the inside.

Interesting. Is that to resolve the same symptoms I described? I never tried that.

It would make sense for the rail to be closest to the bridge, since that is where a standard humbucker would be. Wonder what Duncan was thinking there?

You should grab a Musikraft neck, they show up on the bay once and awhile or order maple bare bones. If I didn't have to wait so damn long to get a hold of my maple Dinky Reverse neck, I would sell it to you. It would go nice with that body. Sorry bro. We are both in the same purgatory. lol A neck will turn up, hang on!

I've seen many necks on eBay & with the price there "Asking" I could buy a DK2.. And that neck has been robbed of the tuners & nut?? What The ****?
Remember the 1992 Rhoads EX I bought last month with Hard Case..
I'll keep an eye peeled but won't pay BIG BUCKS..

                            Thanks again Fellas!
