    I've seen these and would like to know what the story is as well. Looks like a JSR1, but, the control cavity cover looks strange. Fake? Non- American market guitar?
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.
