  • Opinions on older model DK2S

I pretty much stay away from the DK models that have the Duncan Designed pickups and the chrome Jackson Floyds but since I don't see the DK2S pop up on Craigslist that much I thought if give it further consideration. Any thoughts on this particular model with the DD pickups?

I don't think there's any other differences other than the hardware colour & p'ups, they're still killer axes. If the price is right, go for it, you can always mod it.

i have an older DK.. and I too hate chrome.. so I found a mint 580lp in black on ebay and some new jackson tuners in black.. really made her look awesome

      as for DD... change em..

DK's are great guitars.. hoping to snag another one before the summer is out

I just got one a couple of weeks ago, there's a thread in here about it. I too swapped out the trem and tuners for black ones and I was lucky enough that a previous owner had stuck a Dimarzio X2N in the bridge.
It's a brilliang guitar - go for it!

Wasn't there a short period DKs were produced in [insert some other low-cost country then Japan] during the AMIC period?

The Duncan designed pickups are so hit and miss it isn't even funny. I have one that sounds amazing but every other one I heard was pure mud. DK2s are great guitars for mods. The singles are good just put the humbucker of your choice in the bridge and rock out.

country you are referring too would be india.... I have a 2001 that says its of indian origin..but i kinda doubt that as the quality of this sample is quite high IMO...

its well made and plays exceptionally well

Maby mine is an exception though.. lol

Well I got the Dk2s and yep, the DD pickups suck ass. The infinite sustain is pretty cool, just need to get a new bridge pickup.
