Looking at trading for this Kelly but some things just are not adding up. The owner says it is a '90 Professional Std the serial is J000730 and it is on the headstock and in the pocket It has the dot inlays on a rosewood board. The color is looks like the flip flop purple. There is also a couple of extra controls on it that I am not used to seeing on a Kelly. Any clues?

I'd say its a Kelly STD thats been modded. I believe for the Kelly's they did put the serial on the headstock and didn't have a neck plate. I could be mistaken however.

Yup, looks like a kelly std. Is that what it says on the trussrod cover? Is that one of the ones with no neck plate and just the recessed screws? It must have a huge control cavity to fit all those controls so far apart.

Those cavities were relatively small. Who knows what it looks like now?

I see stock ones go for right around $250 usually.
