  • Intonation on my Jackson project

What's up, y'all. I have been working on a project guitar using a JDR94 body, combined with a MIJ Fender Strat neck and a Floyd Rose II tremolo. For several years I've been piecing together different Strat parts to make my own custom guitars. I piece them together, wire em up, set em up, and play em for awhile until I decide take them apart and make something different. I've never had intonation problems before, but now using the JDR body, the intonation is way out. Even though I have been doing all of this piecing together I am definitely no tech, so does anyone have any tips or ideas on what might be causing this and how to fix it. Thanks for all of your help!

The JDR is a 24 fret body, and it needs a 24 fret neck to intonate properly.

There we go. I figured it was some kind of scale issue. Makes perfect sense. I was just hoping the answer was not going to be that I have to get a different neck, but it looks like that is my only option. Thanks for your help.

You could get a strat head if you could find a PC1 neck, but those are rare as hen's teeth.

A neck for that JDR body should be easy to come up with. Good luck.
I want to go out nice and peaceful in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.
