  • My jacksons

    Hello guys,
Im happy I have found this forum about these great guitars. Im from Czech Republic (middle of Europe) and its really rare to find a lot of this guitars. I own two jacksons: warrior (WRXT i think) and RX10D.
Warrior is my main and i wanna know more about this. I´ve bought this guitar 4 years ago,not 1st hand. Pickups (detonators) changed to SH-2 neck and SH-6 bridge for black metal sound, D-standart tuning. I´m trying SH-8B invader and H-tuning because we decided to play death metal. It really kick ass )
    Can U help me please?
I´m looking for year that was made and information about wood (alder/basswood).
    serial No.9857589
artist´s photo (can not add photos):

    and another with sold jackson:

    Thank you'

That has the JT500 trem, so it should be a 2006 or later model. The serial number indicates made in Japan 2011, but the only way to confirm the date would be to remove the neck and check the date stamps. Serial numbers aren't the most accurate way to date.
The body wood would be basswood for a 2006 or later. Earlier models were alder and possibly poplar.
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Thanks for quick response! Screws looked untouched on back plate. So Im gonna look under neck at next strings change. On RX10D there is low profile tremolo (floyd licence written) and i have question: Is it switchable for JT500? I have no problems with tuning on both guitars but low profile looks much better and its comfortable for playing. Think about painting to black but it maybe doesnt work-paint on chrome. And what about neck? Are they switchable? 24 frets on WRXT and 22 frets on RX10D. Im not gonna change it, 24 neck is much smoother and much better than neck on RX10D, just wanna know that. Thanks

No, the 500 and 580 aren't interchangeable. If you switch a 22 fret neck for 24 you'll have intonation problems...not recommended.

Forgot to mention, the RX10D has a JT580LP tremolo. I'm far from an expert on tremolos, so someone may correct my info.

I still don't get it. There is no H note. After G is F# (like my 8-string), then F, then E.

                    H
                    Fis
                    D
                    A
                    E
                    H

Standart H tuning on 6-string guitars. Fis is there because intervals- 4th fret on D string. same like every standart tuning. But you are right: for example on 7-string guitars there is G,not Fis. This is because that interval on 4th fret is on G string. (so it is H,E,A,D,G,H,E).
If you take typical barre on 1st fret (e-standart) to play F dur,i will do the same with fingers just on 6th fret. That is why it is standart. I believe you understand me,my ENG is not so good + music teoretic is weak also.

Ah, I see now. Just looked it up, you're in Europe where they apparently use H to mean B. Also explains why you wrote standart instead of standard like we say in America.

                      And welcome to the forum.

I'm in Europe and that's the first time I've ever heard of H tuning in my life. I also say Standard.

Welcome to the forum from a fellow European (Scot)!

Good for you ;-) It is maybe just in continental Europe. Our H note is your B. Our B (=A#) is your H flat. Stupid but what can i do? Nothing, everything and everybody around me use this music theory. Thanks man

Maybe I must try in Drop Q...
