No the strap button was always offset on those MIJ versions actually to mimic Phil's original USA design.
The work was all done by Dan Lawrence and DRL Graphics in Glendora CA and its simply stunning in person and plays like a dream too!
I asked him to remove the finish from the back of the neck as shown, countersink the control plate given that the factory just screws them on top, fill in the holes from the trem plate as I never install those and finally mod the headstock to say only Jackson.
And of course refinish it in a sparkle silver like the one Phil played at the Mercury Concert in 1992
