  • Is this a 1997 Japanese RR3 or something else?

    Hello, first post here.

I'm shopping for a Jackson, and I've found a nice black RR for a nice price.

The serial number is 9787890, according to the seller. Which I suppose should make it a late nineties Japanese made RR3, if I've understood everything correctly.

It has 22 frets, licensed Floyd Rose, Jackson Duncan Design mics, and judging from the pics provided it has no tone knob, just volume and switch.

Anyone care to fill in the blanks?

    A 97 serial does not mean 1997.
But that is a Japanese serial.

And what do you make of the pictures?

        That's a mid-2000s RX10D.
        96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.
