  • Thoughts on DK2

    Hi guys,

maybe I'll pull the trigger on a black DK2 with SD pickups. (SSH)

He's asking 320,- euros including shipping costs. Excellent condition. What do you think?

    Any thoughts?

Was a case original anything else included when they were sold new?

I don't think imports came with cases, just the USA models.

most imports come with a bag but you could buy/upgrade one with a case.
especially depending on the dealer, sometimes they will jack the price up but include the case.

My DK2 came in the SKB case, I thought that was the standard package.

            Enjoy her, they're amazing guitars.

The 2009, '10 and '11 price lists say most/all Pro and MG series guitars were offered with the Jackson molded case. All other years I could find say the case is sold separately. My 2011 DKMGT came with a case.

I suppose some dealers could've offered the case as a package deal during the 'other' years.
              96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Yep my DKMG, 2009 I believe, came with a SKB hard case.

Ok, I just pulled the trigger:

It looks super clean and comes with a gig-bag plus 2 straps. The seller told me he would give me the guitar for 299€ including shipping-costs. I think it's a very good price for a Japan-Jackson in mint condition...!

Is it possible to check the serial number? 977844X (X=7?)

I always remembered them being separate, but going back years before. Cool to know they started offering cases/bags.

Thx but unfortunetaly I don't buy the guitar.
I think the middle pickup will feel like an obstacle. Then even 299 bucks are too much money...

So you pulled the trigger and then backed out? Okay. The middle pickup can be in the way for some people, but it can always be lowered.

I think I would be much happier with a neck humbucker. The price was low, yes but I didn't had a good feeling about the guitar. Don't know why...
