  • DK2 Neck/BH43 locking nut?

After purchasing a Jackson DK2 neck for my DX10D which had the standard rosewood sharkfin inlay neck w/o binding.I tried transfering the Chrome locking nut(BH43) over to the DK2 neck, and noticed the mounting holes didn't exactly line up,and there is a slight gap on the "E" string side.Did Jackson produce a specific nut for the DK2 neck?like a BH44?

Nope, but the nuts they buy don't always conform to a spec.

Just fill the holes with PVA glue and a matchstick/toothpick and screw it in where it needs to go.

Actually before i do that,I seen 3 different Chrome BH43 locking nuts on Ebay, but they each had a different part # LN-2166,LN-2150,LN-2169 and they are all 1-11/16 width,so how do i know if any of them will fit the DK2 neck perfectly?

bjboydent that guy is expensive. He takes apart good guitars and strips them down and parts them out. I needed a Original 80's Floyd Rose trem bar and he wanted like $100 bucks for it lol. I found one from a different seller for $12. Check out this seller on ebay. I have bought many hard to find parts off of him excellent prices and great service. http://www.ebay.ca/sch/munny4sunny/m...=1&_ipg=&_from

I have a nut off a 2009 DK2. I bought some tuners and the nut came with it. You can have it if you want it, just pay shipping.

Sorry, but a chrome nut on a 2009 DK2 may be out of the question unless I'm missing something.
All DK2's had black hardware starting in 2006, and through to 2011, the end of Japanese production.

Sorry my mistake, I thought you said you needed a black nut not chrome. When I read this post it was 4am and I was tired, and must not have read it right.

Ha,that's cool i understand.I contacted the Ebay seller who sells the locking nuts and gave him my specs on the DK2 neck.I borrowed a digital micrometer and measured the locking nut that came off the DX10D Jackson neck, and it was 42.95mm,and then measured the neck width at the top where the nut sits and it measured 43.45mm.I have a spare locking nut that i bought off ebay and it measured 42.85mm width, just goes to show ya all locking nuts are made to exact specs like one of the JCF online members stated.I will probaly have to re-drill the holes and center the locking nut the best i can.
