  • PC3 Chlorine : brown or blue back

    Hi there guys,

I'm looking for a Chlorine Jackson PC3 but i find a weird thing : some have brown back and other have blue back.

Any information about this ? Maybe it's related to the year ?

They are difficult to find too ...

Did they make them with koa bodies, too, or just mahogany? That one is a later model since it's got the JT580LP Floyd. The first couple years had the Wilkinson.

I think they only made it with mahogany body. It's only Made in Japan so Koa is a bit too exotic for this import production.

Yeah, that makes sense. Weird about some having brown or black backs, though. I know the PC1 was also available with koa at some point.

          Yeap pretty rare bird too.

It's brown mahogany or transparent blue back. Very strange for an import production ...

I never paid attention to the backs of the PC3, but it appears to be the later models that had the natural backs.
This is just my observation based on a few searches through old pics.
The one with the natural back in the pic above is a 2001, which was the last year of production.

There are some early Wilkinson bridge models with the natural back on google images.

                        Interesting indeed.
I've only ever owned the Au natural and Solar versions.
