      another question
did this model come with the JT580LP, or JT590? and will a gotoh fit without any intonation problems, as noted in this link:

      Schaller / OFR intonation problems

      http://audiozone.dk/index-filer/TremoloInfoProject.htm

i don't care if the saddle-locking screws extend beyond the recess. i care about proper intonation.

Those came with a JT580LP, but an OFR will fit. A Gotoh should probably fit, also.

Didn't some of the KE-3s come with a 22 fret neck?

No, the KE3 was only 24 frets, from what I remember.

the takeuchi jackson floyds base plates are made from steel, not zinc? They're considered higher quality?
i need to do a search on this forum. i know there's a lot of info out there already.

does anybody know details about these models of Jackson Floyd (in particular quality of base plate material):

The "by FLoyd Rose" model appears to be new, from the recent imports I'm guessing.

The other one isn't a "vintage 80s" - that'd be a JT-6. The listing appears to be for a recent black JT580LP, not made by Takeuchi.

I vaguely remember seeing the Jackson By FR logo'd trem on a recent, lower-end Jackson, but I can't be 100% certain.

I know very little of tremolos, but could this tremolo be the FR Special that folks are saying comes on some of those lower-mid range Jacksons?
                  96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Some of the JS Series are coming with the Jackson by FR trem. They're still calling it a licensed FR.

The FR Special comes on the X Series and is a step up from the licensed trems, but on the bottom of the non-licensed FR pole.

                            questions keep coming

will an R4 nut work on a WRMG neck? i think they're spec'd with R2.

this project is coming along very quickly now.

R2 is for narrow nuts (1 5/8" I think). R3 is for 1 11/16" (typical Jackson). R4 is 1 11/16" but with wider string spacing.

Are all jt589lp tremolos created equal?
Are there some years/production runs that are better/not as good than others?
im scrounging ebay and they seem to be in the $30 range. But then i see a couple for quite a bit more
