  • Jackson pickups JE10 and JE14

    Hello guys,

I was wondering today, where exactly are Jackson pickups made in?
Are they USA made, China, Japan or something third?

I have Je10 and Je14 pickups that I would like to know where they are made in...

If anyone knows, please help me out here so I dont have to take them out and try to see the manufacturer : ))

My guess, China. Although it doesn't look like it even says on the pickups.

Some of the more recent ones are made by Belcat, presumably in China since that's where most JS are made. I guess in the case of the JS Kelly the pickups could be made by Belcat in Indonesia since those guitars are also made in Indonesia.

Ive been speculating China and Belcat because of the very same link you posted.
Ive sent Belcat a mail, asking if its theirs job or not. Because on mine I dont have Jackson written... Its just blank, the guitar is JS20 Dinky year 2009, made in India thought.
Btw, are je10 and je14 same thing? Je10 being just 2 je14 coupled together? Or am I completely wrong

Ive got a reply from a Fender and they told me that the pickups were made in India. In another email an indian manufacturer (who I assumed was making this guitar) told me that the pickups were sourced from Korea.
        Im starting to get paranoid

A 2009 Indian Jackson was made by Harmony. I would be surprised if they made pickups in India at some point. But it's all possible I guess. Korea is a possibility I guess, a strange one though.

Oh, are you sure it was made by Harmony? Because I have contacted them and they claimed that a Korean supplier is supplying the pickups.
Skipping to another mail, Fenders support are telling me that they are made in India.
Yet another person from Fender is telling me that its probably made in China.

Damn it, is there really no proper tracking of where they make these items? >:S
            This is outrageous really.

The guitar was made by Harmony, the pickups who knows? Not even Fender apparently. So perhaps Harmony is right and they're Korean, presumably they would know more than Fender.

But korean pickups on a low-low budget guitar ?
Dunno, but it seems highly unlikely >>

"Duncan Designed" pickups are Korean. So I would imagine that these same guys could be selling basic pickups to other companies.

The question is, is it actually made in korea, or just a korean company outsourcing elsewhere...making it eventually made in XXX.
I know, Im complicating things ^^

According to Seymour Duncan's site, they're made in Korea

Hand-crafted electric guitar pickups, acoustic guitar pickups, bass pickups and pedals. Helping musicians find their signature sound since 1976.

I got a reply from a Fender saying that they dont know (lol?) and I should contact the company who supplied the pickups called "Crystal Sound".
I searched for this manufacturer but i cant find any info about it...anyone knows it?
