  • Help identifying pawn shop find

I found this in a pawn shop. The guy just wanted it gone, he said it had been hanging there for over a year. I think I got a good deal on it, but I don't really know. I can't seem to find anything out about it.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Serial number 200603033
    headstock says "made in India"
v model with one side shorter than the other (Rhoads maybe?)

    No trem.
    Dark blue
rosewood board with dots (no fin or tooth inlay)
    the pickups say "Duncan Designed"

I'll add pics when I figure out how.

    thanks

      JS32 Rhoads probably. Maybe a JS22.

        Sounds like a JS30RR Rhoads. 2006 model.
The Duncan Designed pups must not be original as they came with Jackson CVR2 pups.

First load your pics on a site such as photobucket or tinypic, then copy the links here.

I'm hoping you got that for 100 or less USD. I have a project RR guitar I acquired under similar circumstances from a local music store the PS3-T Rhoads. It had been hanging in there for a couple yrs, I always looked at it as I passed by... one day went in, was checking out stuff and picked it up, as I did he said, if you'll take that with you today you can have it for 100.00. Been here tooooooo long! By the time I'm done with it, I'll have USA money in a Korean model. You don't buy these to make a profit from em, you upgrade it, paint it , make it for you, cause no one else is gonna want it.

Yeah, 2006 JS30RR in dark metallic blue. They came with Jackson CVR2 humbuckers, so someone added the Duncan Designed.

They originally had $250 on it.
I watched them slowly drop it to $200.
I offered them $100 OTD, and they wouldn't do any less than $150 OTD, so that's what I took it for.

I had planned to repaint it and put blackouts in it, but it's got good paint so I may just let it hang as is for a while.

Well it's not like you got burned for it or anything. You'll never get that back out of it though. Of course , right amount of desire, right buyer, money = sale!
You know they had less than $150.00 in it , prolly more like $50 in it.

I've made out like a bandit with pawn shops because they fail to know which models are which. Suttle things like an Ibanez S-Series S620EXQM , two versions of this axe and easily confused. The higher end one had a 3 way selector with factory Ibanez "Designed by EMG" printed in the pickups, that guitar retailed $1,299.00 when it came out around 06-07 ? , sold between $750- $900.00 . Scored one for $200.00 from a pawn shop. Flipped it for $800.00 after I bought the tremolo bar and new pickup rings.

The other one 08 and later had a 5 way selector and those IBZ pickups in it, wasn't worth as much , those IBZ pickups where DiMarzio made pups for Ibanez.

Anyway, I recommend just looking up guitars and there proper specs so when you go to pawn shops, you're knowledgeable, it gives you the upper hand when haggling.
