Immaculate Rhoads RR3r.... Played a handfuls of times

I have a friend that bought a blue RR3r back in 1999 new. He played it for a few months, got out of music, and has been sitting in the case for 15years... Needless to say there is not a scratch or blemish, no belt swirl or anything. He even has the sales receipt from 99... What should I offer him for it?. Not much info about it out there besides the specs....it seems like everyone modifies, or replaces pickups, but never see any stocks of these.... Are they rare?

OFFER him $100. If he says no, go as high as $200. If he says no, tell him to try to get better online. A month later, he will come back saying $200 is fine.

No one stocks them because they are old and discontinued.

I think he means stock versions, not store stock. Most get p'up & hardware upgrades but they are a common guitar & not worth much even though they're pretty good.

Good point. I didn't think of that. Stock vs Stock.

Well, then definitely don't offer too much. You'll need to replace the whatever stuff you want to replace. Stock on mass produced instruments means nothing.

Used Japanese models can be had for $3-400 all day long in many locations these days...less than $300 isn't terribly uncommon.
