    Ok, that makes sense.

Well as of 2015 Jackson was going only with Cort and Samick in Indonesia (aside from most of the Chinese JS), all the serials will looks like ICJ or ISJ. They do have a habit of switching every couple of years or so, we'll see where they are making stuff this year.

It's IPS. This is an SL2 model. So, counting IWJ, this makes 4 in 3 years?
This one also has more digits than the 7 I'm used to seeing.

      96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

          Possibly.
The Pro model had a different headstock than the USA model Marty played recently, but perhaps there's a USA model in the works? Time will tell.

A yes, I've seen IPS before but only once and right before they received the ISJ number when they moved SL2 production from Wildwood to Samick. My theory is it's a prototype--Prototype Samick or very early model before they got the correct numbering convention from Jackson.

              1. more price competition. Let's not pretend like Jackson doesn't get very arrogant with thinking they can sell imports at any price without consequence from competitors undercutting them.

              2. a new sig model or two to show they're still relevant to the current metal scene, and aren't completely butt-fucked by ESP constantly taking their endorsers

              1. higher prices

              2. something with EMG-HZ's in it

              3. custom shop work that has zero relevance to what ends up on the pegs of retailers but is damn impressive.
