  • Info on supposed Jackson RR7

I have an option to buy this guitar for a relatively low price, but my search on the internet for specifications on this model came close to 0 info if the model actually exists. It has original Seymour Duncan pickups, other than that it is prety much anyones gess The price comes arround 200€ with the case. I think no matter which model it actually is, that is pretty good deal... what do you guys think? Anny input is appreciated!

Can't see your pic, but there was an RR7. Pretty sure they actually came with Duncan Designed pickups, so it's been upgraded if it's got real Seymour Duncans.

Yeah, there was an RR7 for a couple of years like nearly a decade ago or something like that. 200 Euros would be a good score, IMO.

      I googled and found these:

Here are some more pictures I found:

Was there a RR7 (with regular headstock) or were there only RR7R (with reverse headstock)?

I only know of the RR7R

                Yeah, that's a 2006-'11 RR3.
                96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

IIRC, there were "issues" with doing a non-reverse import 7-string head back in those days, so they only went with the reverse on the DR-7, DX-7, KE-7R, and RR7R. As well, it's a bit of a sharp turn coming off the nut to the 7th tuner, which thicker low Bs find difficult to make, unless you elongate the head even more near the neck to compensate, and then it just looks completely fucked up.

there is only a reverse headstock RR7. duncan designed pickups, similar to other cheaper 7 strings they made back then. very crappy in my opinion. the inlays lift off very easy and since being revers inlays they are like little needles on your fingers. this is my experience, they can not live up to a player who plays a lot. great for a kid in high school trying to get some traction with a girl who sees it in his room. they are better for decor than use.

Just joined here to get some info on a rr7r, and there is already a thread going. These are quite rare in the UK I know they were made in Japan so can't be too bad??
                        Any Info would be great!

                          A RR3 would be bolt on. Wasn't the RR7 neck-through, or am I thinking of the RR5?

They were only made for about a year back in 2000. Alder body with satin chrome hardware. I've never play one, but if you type 'RR7R' in the search box on this forum you should find some owners feedback and other info.

Yep, the RR5 was neck thru.
