  • Rhoads with a maple board........yes please

It's a JS but it's friggin nice. I'd prefer non reverse hs though.

It says it has passives & no boost etc but has a battery compartment, any idea why?

Hmmmm. Jackson has always fucked up specs in catalogs, so I would think it would have some type of active electronics or pickups with that battery box. Looks pretty nice, though.

      It does look nice.
The ad says made in Indonesia. Not sure if I've heard of a JS made in Indonesia up 'til now. Or, there may've been one or two on second thought.
No visible serial or country of manufacture sticker, either.

Guess we'll have to wait to sort things out.
      96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

RR24M still is better, but look wise it kills it.

I like it's look but the upper fret access looks pretty shitty. If they make a MIM Pro version w/ some better equipment & features, I might check one out.

Looks like an older DK2M (or newer one with the black head) will fit - 24 frets and all that. Only thing is the red logo.

Interesting and looks cool! I have 2 old India made JS and they both play great. I haven't played a chinese made one yet.

The chinese ones are better, believe it or not.

That is so cool. Could it be a limited special model for MF? Cort has been making the JS Kelly in Indonesia for a while, so maybe they are making this one as well. But then these pics don't show Cort's usual "inspected by" stickers. I think it'll remain to be seen whether it is Chinese or Indonesian. Clearly those are active pickups, so MF's specs aren't 100% as often is the case.

Seeing with my RR1 if I'm not paying attention, I end up trying to fret the neck p'up, (even on the KV3 I had, which had the same big blocky neck heel as that JS)
I don't think fret access will be such a problem

Clearly? Jackson used to make their own pickups in-house, but they NEVER made active pickups. Jackson covered pickups were always passive and could use active electronics such as mid boost, gain boost, wah-type circuit. It probably has some active circuit connected, since there's a battery compartment, but then again, I don't know who's making their pickups now and what kind of circuitry they're using.
