  • Need info and opinions on this Jackson Professional MIJ (Pics)

    Good afternoon!.

I'd like to know if you guys could help me with this guitar i'm planning to buy.
They guy's asking $9000 mexican pesos for, which right now are $500 USD.
I'd like to know, how good is it? what year is it? is that a good price? is the FR tremolo decent?
And anything you think it'd be worth mentioning.
He says it's from the year 1993, but i'm not sure. Thanks.

P.S: The serial number appears to be 606093, but i can't see it too well.

    These are the photos.

EDIT: Sorry, i just noticed this is only for USA guitars, not MIJ. If someone can change the thread to the correct board, i'd really appreciate it.

    My Guess maybe early 1996.

It seems like a fair price.

1996 DR3. Looks original except for the bridge pickup...which someone added.

Listed as basswood body in the '96 catalogue. Tremolo is a JT580LP, which were rumoured to be Schaller made during that era?

It's worth $500 w/case if it plays/sounds/feels great. Japan made some great Jacksons, so check it out.
        96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Changed neck pickup, too. And the JT590 was Schaller, not the JT580LP.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I knew the 590 was Schaller, but wasn't sure about the older JT580LP. I was basing my guess on Audiozone saying 'possibly Schaller'.

Good catch, the Duncan Designed pups offered on those had chrome poles, not the black.

I thought they were always Takeuchi, don't remember anything about Schaller, but I guess it's possible some were.

The 580lp was Takeuchi, then it was 'unnammed'.
