DK2M necks

Hi all -

I was looking at the DK2M, namely the blue one. How are the necks on these compared to say the Charvel's? I have several MIJ/USA Charvels and love the neck but would like a 24-fretter.

I take it your talking about the older MIJ ones?

I only had a short play of one several years ago in a store & it was nice. I have the MF run one with the reverse hs & ghost flames, I'm guessing the profile is the same. Slightly thinner than my DK2, extremely slick & fast.

Good luck finding a nice one & a sensible price.


EDIT: Since you said 'blue one', you must mean the mexi models. Can't help you there but i understand they are also quite good. I still stand by my comment about finding one though 😉

Thanks for the information. Is there that much variability in these models then?

I expect the FRT02000 trem on the MIM would be considered a step up from the older MIJ models with the JT580LP.
The wrap around heel on the MIM would be a big difference from the neck joint on the MIJ also.
I don't believe the MIJ had a graphite reinforced neck like the MIM, but I'd have to check to be sure.

Can't comment on the necks. I expect they're both speed necks, but they may differ.

Thanks because the specs online for the Jackson and the Charvel seem very similar but I doubt they are exact.
