Help me identify my old faithful!

Hey folks,

I have this King V KV2 guitar however I don't know where that comes from or its manufacture year. I bought this guitar from my friend in 2005, and he told me it is Korean, but I want to make sure if this is true or not. Serial number is 9643223.

Nope, not a KV2. The original bolt-on KV2 had dot inlays and was part of the Japanese Professional series. The newer KV2 is a USA neck-thru model.

kv3, made for about 2-3 years. made in japan

Serial indicates Japan 1999ish, the final year for the KV3.
The neck pocket contains date/model stamps if you're curious.
