From a manufacturing standpoint, I would be surprised (FMIC owning Jackson) if both the body and scratch plate were not dimensionally identical to the Strat line. Maybe someone will try swapping out the plate in the future. From a quick glance, the screw spacing and # is correct. Wish I had one to try it out.

And there's another thread where someone says they put on a Charvel Model 1a guard and it fitted apart from the Floyd rout.Last edited by MartinBarre; 08-27-2016, 07:25 AM.

Mine does have the skunk stripe on the back of the neck too.Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

I bought a B-stock Jackson SDX few months ago.
There was slight neck alignment problem. It seemed that neck pocket on the body was routed little bit too small for the neck and it caused that gasket under neck plate came over the edge of the pocket.
It scratched my had and that was not nice. That was not a big thing for me because I was going to shave neck heel corner and replace the standard neck plate with an asymmetric contoured plate anyway.
But that neck alignment/neck plate problem was a good example that these Indonesian Jacksons can have many kind of quality issues.
I also replaced Floyd Rose Special with a Schaller Lockmeister and pickups with Seymour Duncan Distortion and Dimarzio FS-1.
Middle single coil is still original (only cover is now white) because I don´t use that at all.
My original plan was to get a white Fender Stratocaster with Floyd Rose trem, but all cheaper imports had 21 fret neck and that was not enough.
So I wasn´t after a Adrian Smith signature guitar. I listen to Iron Maiden and I think Adrian Smith is a very good guitarist, but that signature on the headstock I did not like in this case. So I removed it.
Before I got that idea and started to sand it off I noticed that it was between two layers of clear coat, and when signature was removed there was still enough clear coat left to polish the sanded area.
Now most of the hardware is chrome instead of black. That’s because I wanted it to look more like a traditional stratocaster.
Neck profile is very nice and fretwork too. It was a surprise to me that this basswood guitar is not as light as I thought, and that made me to buy a wide padded strap for it.
I think I´m going to replace pickguard with 3-ply version next, but I have postponed that because it seems that it should be made blank because Fender or Squier pickguards won´t fit.
Here is my Jackson SDX in its current condition:
My Jacksons: RR1 x2, RR Pro, Soloist Pro, RRXMG x2, SDX, JS32RR

Yeah mine is square too and it was made in 2017 (according to the inspection date).
In fact mine the FR doesn't seat on top of the Body so it kinda floats, not as much as a true Floating bridge of course. If I totally lower it the string with hit the frets, I dont know if they are all like that, or if the Neck Pocket should had been deeper.
