Love my Jackson King V but HATE the pickups please help?

    Help needed..!!! I have a JS32 dinky with a basswood body and standard Jackson pups. I was thinking of gettin dimarzio d activator or SD invader..!!

    So the thing is, which one should I go for...??
    I mostly play metal core, death metal...(all the high gain stuff )
    But I like to play clean also.

    D activator
    Bass:6.5
    Mids:6
    Treble:6

    Sd invader
    Bass:7
    Mids:8
    Treble:3 or 4
    Plz help me..!!

      The SD Invader sounds a bit muffled to me, so I don't think it will be good with a basswood body.

      For high output, I would go for a Duncan TB-6 Distortion, or the SH-13 Dimebucker. If you need even more output, you can boost the signal with an overdrive pedal.

      The new 6-string metal shootout adds several new pickups to the mix including the Pegasus, Nazgul, Dave Mustaine Livewire and Black Winter. More on these pic...

      (Note that the guy is using a high gain amp of some kind. If your amp is on the tamer side, you will need to push it with a pedal.)

      You can use the neck pickup for cleans with a low output pickup, such as the SH-1N.

          What amp are you using? What OD/Distortion pedals are you using? If the pedals and amp are high-gain, you won't need high-gain pickups. If the amp and pedals together won't get you there, then high-gain pickups should push it up a bit, but you might also lose the ability to get really clean tones.
