  • Jackson DK2 neck on PDX

    Hello everybody,
I have got a DK2 MIJ and a PDX made in India.
I really find mysef playing the PDX much more, I like the King V
shape better and love the EMGs. The thing is, the DK2 neck is just much
better than the one on the PDX.
My question is: are both necks interchangeable? If I could put the DK2 neck
onto the PDX body, I'd have my dream guitar
    Thank you for your advice!

There are exceptions, but generally, Jackson neck pockets are 2 1/4 inch. So, the switch shouldn't be a problem, but I can't guarantee a tight fit. Try it out.
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Not familiar with the pdx, is it 24 fret?

Yeah, it should fit pretty well, I would think, since they're pretty much the same, probably just a slightly different back shape.

It's the Phil Demmel 24 fret bolt on import.

Yes, they are both 24 fret.. Have you ever made a similar swap?

I'm assuming he was suggesting that a DK2 is 24 frets, so if the PDX were 22 it wouldn't intonate properly.

Nice! I think the V looks better with the neck binding. Now you've just got to swap the truss rod covers.

Thanks a lot! Yes exactly you are right, I saw that once I hd uploaded already the pictures
I think the DK2 looks better now as well, the flames stand out more without the chrome plated bridge..

Maybe swap the knobs to match the bridge. Looks great otherwise. Dk2 looks great with unbound neck and black hardware.
