  • Soloist. Can't figure out what year.

I have a soloist with the serial number 010868. I'm guessing it's Japanese made, but I can't find anything online that tells me for sure where or when it was made. Anybody have experience in this area that can tell me what's up with this guitar?

Post up some pictures of the guitar. Serial numbers on the imports don't really mean much.

Japanese neck thrus are all date coded. This particular number format indicates a 2001 model. An SL3 perhaps?
      96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

That's kind of what I was thinking man. I was looking at some serial number charts, but couldn't find anything that directly categorized this guitar. The closest I got was the Japanese import 2001 models. I'm may be selling it to a friend, and he asked me what year and what exact model it was, and I honestly couldn't tell him. Ha ha. I bought it used in 2007. So an early 2000's model would make sense. I'd post pics, but my phone is a piece of junk. Thanks for your input.

This is an early 2000's SL3. There was also an SL4, but they had 22 frets and HH pickups.
